Source: Snap Inc. Second Quarter 2026 Financial Results, 3 August 2026. Snap counts a daily active user as a registered user who opens Snapchat at least once in a 24-hour period, and a monthly active user as one who does so at least once in the 30 days to a month end; both are quarterly averages.
How much does Snapchat pay creators?
Snap does not publish a rate per 1,000 or per million views. It invites creators into its Monetization Program, which shares ad revenue, when they have at least 50,000 followers and 15,000 hours of view time in 28 days, 3,000 of them from Spotlight, and lets them cash out from $100.
What we can measure is the views. In our posting-frequency study, the median creator posting 5 to 7 Spotlight videos a week collected 37,398 Spotlight views a week, about 160,300 a month. Any dollar figure for those views depends on a rate Snap does not publish; our Spotlight earnings study sets them against the newest reported estimate, and the earnings calculator does it for your own numbers.
| Spotlight posts per week | Creators | Median weekly views | Monthly views (about) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under 1 | 614 | 4,475 | 19,200 |
| 1 to 2 | 869 | 9,245 | 39,600 |

Who uses Snapchat?
Snap says its audience in the United States continues to broaden quarter over quarter, led by people aged 35 and older (Q2 2026). Snap's quarterly releases give no age, gender or country breakdown of its users. The splits quoted elsewhere come from advertising tools and surveys rather than Snap, and the country figures on top-ranking statistics pages disagree with each other, so we do not repeat them. What Snap does publish is the regional split in daily users and revenue per user.

How we measured this
Snapchat has no public API for creator data. Our numbers come from SnapDataHub's own index of public Snapchat profiles and Spotlight videos (236,165 profiles and 5,275,010 Spotlight videos on 2 November 2026). Official figures are Snap Inc.'s own, each linked to the release it comes from.
- Videos. Spotlight videos uploaded 20 July 2026 to 18 October 2026 that we first recorded when they were already at least 14 days old, so their view counts had time to build: 177,290 videos from 37,787 creators.
- Creator size is the creator's latest subscriber count (public profiles round it to the nearest 100 above 1,000). Counts above 40,000,000 are dropped as reading errors; the largest verified profile in our index has 28,595,400.
- Engagement rate is each creator's likes plus comments divided by views over those videos, for creators with at least three of them and 1,000 views in total; rates above 50% are dropped as incomplete view counts. We report the median per size band.
- 50,000-follower share: creators who uploaded any Spotlight video in the window and show a subscriber count (50,666). Only the follower test is checked; view time is not public.
- Most subscribed: verified profiles in our index, each re-read from the live public profile on 2 November 2026.
- Posting frequency and weekly views come from our two studies, as published; their own pages give the method.
- Limits. Our index covers profiles our discovery found, which over-represents creators visible enough to be found and the markets we crawl most. It is not a sample of all Snapchat users, so we publish no country or age figures from it. Collection began in May 2026, so we do not publish trends over time from our own data.
- Refresh. Our numbers are recomputed monthly by a read-only script; Snap's figures are replaced after each quarterly release. The "Last updated" date changes only when a number does.
