How we calculate Snapchat stats

What each number on a SnapDataHub profile report means, where it comes from, and what it can't tell you.

Where the data comes from

Every report is built from what a logged-out visitor can see on Snapchat: the public profile (subscriber count when the creator shows it, bio) and the account's public Spotlight posts (views, likes, comments, shares, caption, sound and upload time). We do not log in, and we do not see private Stories, Snap Map, demographics or Snapchat's own creator insights.

Each report states the date of its subscriber count. When a creator hides the count, the report says so and gives the last public count with its date. To ask for a refresh or a correction, use the contact page.

The Spotlight posts we analyse

A report analyses every public Spotlight post we have collected for the account and says how many that is. Average views, likes, comments and shares are taken over those posts. The median, the middle post, is shown next to the average because one viral Spotlight can multiply the average while barely moving the median.

Engagement rate = (likes + comments) / views, per post on average.

Compared with all Spotlight posts we track: every night we compute the mean and median views across all the Spotlight posts in our database, and reports compare the account's average with them.

Viral posts are the analysed posts with at least 2 times, and at least 5 times, the account's average views.

Consistency score = 100 x (1 - the coefficient of variation of the gaps between posts), kept between 0 and 100: an account that posts at steady intervals scores high. The streak is the longest run of consecutive days with at least one post.

Posting hours come from each post's upload time, in UTC. They show when the account posts, not when its audience is online.

Tiers, ranks and engagement comparison

Tier is set by subscribers: Starter under 1,000; Nano 1,000+; Micro 10,000+; Mid-Tier 100,000+; Macro 1,000,000+; Mega 10,000,000+. The rank within a tier is the account's position by subscribers among the accounts in that tier that we track, recomputed nightly.

Reports place an account's engagement rate among the other accounts in its tier that have a report: top quarter, above the median, below the median or bottom quarter. The tier median and middle half are computed from our own reports and refreshed every few hours; a tier with fewer than 20 reports gets no comparison. Measured in October 2026: Micro median 4.25% (120 reports), Mid-Tier 4.48% (919), Macro 2.78% (312). Until October 2026 reports used fixed guide ranges that were not measured.

Earnings estimates

Snapchat does not publish what creators are paid, so every earnings figure is a range, not a quote.

Monetization Program. Since February 2025 Snapchat pays creators a share of ad revenue on Stories and Spotlight. Snapchat publishes no rate, so we assume $0.50 to $1.50 per 1,000 views. Monthly views are estimated as average views per post times the analysed posts divided by 12, which assumes they were posted over about a year. Snap pays only on Spotlight videos of 30 seconds or more, so the estimate counts only the share of the analysed posts' views that sit on videos of that length (the report states the share); when we don't know the posts' length, it counts every view and is an upper bound. To be invited, Snap asks for 50,000 followers and 15,000 hours of view time in the last 28 days, 3,000 of them from Spotlight; view time is not public, so reports can't confirm eligibility.

Brand deals (one sponsored post): $0.005 to $0.012 per subscriber for accounts with 1M+ subscribers, $0.008 to $0.015 for 100K+, $0.01 to $0.02 for 10K+, none below that. Real deals vary widely with niche, audience country and format.

How the text on a report is written

The sentences on each report are generated by our code from the report's own numbers, so every figure in them is a figure shown on the page. Reports do not show AI-written text.
